Date

23 April 2024

Time

09:30 to 17:00

Location

Online

Tuesday 23 April to Thursday 25 April

The Essential Guide to Grant Applications (EGGA) masterclass is a free, three-day masterclass on how to write a grant application that is strong from a methodological point of view, reads well and presents a convincing case for funding. If you have an idea for a health or social care research proposal but require help with writing a grant application, EGGA is for you!

Through a series of presentations, exercises and Q&A, with accompanying coursework, attendees will learn how to get their ideas across to reviewers quickly and clearly, and how to demonstrate that they will be able to deliver their research successfully. Optional one-to-one sessions with NIHR Research Support Service advisers will also allow attendees to work through aspects of their own research ideas with experienced methodologists and facilitators. A full programme is available online.

This event is open to health care professionals, social care and public health practitioners, health researchers, charities and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who are intending to apply to any NIHR or other open, competitive, peer-reviewed funding programme in England in the 12 months following the masterclass.

This event is funded and hosted by the NIHR Research Support Service hub hosted by University of Southampton & Partners.

This event takes place online over three days at the following times:

  • Tuesday 23 April, 09:30 - 15:10
  • Wednesday 24 April, 09:30 - 15:40
  • Thursday 25 April, 09:30 - 16:40
