The NIHR Invention for Innovation (i4i) programme is a translational research funding scheme aimed at de-risking early-to-late stage medical devices, in vitro diagnostics and high-impact patient-focused digital health technologies for ultimate use in the NHS or social care settings.
Two of the i4i funding streams will launch on 12 April 2023:
- Product Development Awards (PDA), round 26
- Challenge Awards, round 15
The NIHR i4i Product Development Awards (PDA) support innovations at any stage of the translational research and development pathway, including the clinical development of laboratory-validated technologies or interventions.
The NIHR i4i Challenge Awards invites applications for the evaluation of MedTech innovations in real-world healthcare or social care settings. We support market-ready innovations by addressing the translational gap between the clinical evaluation of technologies and adoption decisions by commissioners and regulators.
The i4i Programme team will host the launch webinar for both calls, which will include:
- Eligibility criteria and application process
- Highlight notices: NIHR Compound pressures themed call & AI in Musculoskeletal health in collaboration with Orthopaedic Research UK
- Award holder’s view: Cortirio
- A chance to submit any questions you might have in writing during the webinar. The team will answer as many questions as possible during the webinar.
