Professor Saul Faust
Professor Saul Faust OBE represents Clinical Research Facilities on the NIHR Strategy and Engagement Board. He is Director of the NIHR's Southampton Clinical Research Facility and Clinical Director of the NIHR's Wessex Local Clinical Research Network.
He is also Co-Director of the NIHR-funded National Immunisation Schedule Evaluation Consortium and joint national clinical lead for the NIHR Vaccine Innovation Network. He is an NIHR Senior Investigator.
Saul is Clinical Director Lead for the UK Clinical Research Facilities Network and chairs the University Hospital Association R&D Directors Group. He is Professor and Honorary Consultant of Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. He is also NHS England national speciality lead for paediatric allergy, immunology and infectious diseases. Saul chaired the UK NICE Guideline Committees for sepsis in children and adults (2016) and Lyme Disease (2018).
Saul was awarded an OBE in 2022 for research leadership during the pandemic.
