Professor Christian Mallen
Professor Christian Mallen represents the NIHR Research Schools on the NIHR Strategy and Engagement Board. He is Director of the School for Primary Care Research.
Christian is the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Keele University and an NIHR Senior Investigator. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatic.
Christian's research interests focus on improving the management of common rheumatological complaints in primary care. In particular, he is interested in improving the diagnosis and prognosis of musculoskeletal disorders in a general practice setting, both in the UK and in low and middle income country settings.
Christian works as a practicing GP in a North Staffordshire surgery.
