Terry Quinn

Professor Terry Quinn is the interim NIHR Clinical Research Network National Specialty Lead for Ageing.

Terry holds the post of David Cargill Chair of Geriatric Medicine and Honorary Consultant Physician in Stroke and Geriatric Medicine. He has a broad research portfolio. His principal research interests are around trial methodology, functional assessment and neuropsychological consequences of cardiovascular disease.

Terry is passionate about evidence based practice and has worked to raise standards in clinical research involving older adults. To this end, he holds senior editorial positions with major journals in clinical ageing, has developed PPIE groups for researchers, and has helped produce best practice guidance around older adult research, for example the INCLUDE older adults initiative.

He combines his research and teaching work with inpatient and outpatient clinical commitments in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
