The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Policy Research Programme (PRP) invites applications for research projects to inform adult social care policy decisions and build the evidence base for policy making.

The objective of this initiative is to provide opportunities for researchers who are less familiar with policy research to bring their wealth of experience and expertise to PRP. This initiative will run multiple times across multiple rounds and will be left open for a longer time than would be usual for PRP calls in order to enable further time for researchers to develop their applications. This initiative does not have a specific single project brief, but the specification includes a broad list of relevant topic areas. All applications should have a pathway to providing evidence that is useful information for national adult social care policy.

A webinar was delivered on 14 September and the recording is available

Further information can be found in the research specificationStage 1 applicant guidance and standard information for applicants

The submission deadline for applications was 1pm on 13 February 2024.

We are not currently accepting applications for this initiative. We may run additional iterations in future; at which point additional information will be made available here.
